Dan’s previous sports activities left him with a great deal of back and shoulder pain. His search for relief brought him to yoga in 2007. Though the practice of yoga he not only found relief from his pain and increased flexibility, but a new way of life. Seeing how yoga had benefited him and wanting to deepen his understanding of the changes he experienced from yoga he started attending the Davenport School of Yoga. There, under the mentoring of Jeani Mackenzie, he enrolled in and completed teachers training in 2009. He received his RYT-200 from Yoga Alliance and continues to broaden his experience and understanding through his study of yoga under the guidance of Jeani.                                                                 Dan has recently received his certification as an Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist through the Himalayan Institute.
In addition to yoga, his interest in the mind, body and spirit connection led Dan to Reiki in which he attained his Master Level Certification. He believes that Yoga, Reiki and Ayurveda compliment each other, helping to bring all aspects of one’s energy and health into balance.
Dan believes yoga is not meant to be “serious” and encourages his students to have fun, be present and enjoy the moment.
